Lloyd Brothers Pinot Gris
2020 Lloyd Brothers Presshouse Pinot Gris Vintage
The Presshouse Story
The Lloyd Brothers McLaren Vale Estate is home to the first commercial olive grove in McLaren Vale and was home to one of the first olive Presshouses, where a traditional mat olive press was located. The ‘Presshouse’ now sits at the heart of our winery, pressing grapes rather than olives and continuing to add to the rich history and unique tapestry of the Estate.
Sourced from Pinot Gris grown on our cool climate Adelaide Hills vineyard – Miegunyah. Located in the southern Adelaide Hills approximately 350metres about sea level. Cool days and cool nights make for a slow, evening ripening which is well suited to growing Pinot Gris. Tasting note
A slight pink hue due to the unique colour of Pinot Gris grapes on the vine. It displays lovely stone fruit, nashi pear with a lovely texture that helps make it an ideal accompaniment to an array of cuisines.
Selectively picked in the cool of the night. The fruit is crushed and directly transferred to our air bag press where is undergoes a gentle pressing prior to a cool ferment in stainless steel. Lees stirring to add some texture with ferment being stopped just prior to full dryness.
